HubSpot: Connect the Project Blue iMessage Inbox

If you use HubSpot, you can connect Project Blue as a channel in your HubSpot inbox. Your Project Blue conversations then show up next to the rest of your HubSpot conversations.

Connect the channel

  1. Make sure the Project Blue app is installed in your HubSpot account.

  2. Open your HubSpot inbox.

  3. Add the iMessage channel. HubSpot sends you to a Project Blue page that shows "Connecting iMessage Channel".

  4. When the page shows "Connection Successful!", the channel appears in your inbox.

If you don't see the iMessage channel, contact Project Blue support.

What shows up once it's connected

  • Inbound texts from one-to-one conversations are added to the HubSpot inbox.

  • Outbound messages sent from the Project Blue web app, the HubSpot card, HubSpot workflows, Project Blue workflows or the API are added to the inbox too.

  • The inbox shows your text conversations. Group chats, attachments and voice memos stay in the Project Blue app.

  • On the contact, HubSpot also gets an SMS activity for each message you send. For each message you receive, Project Blue creates a Follow up on Inbound Message task by default. To log received texts as SMS activity instead, turn on HubSpot Inbound Logging in Settings > General > Inbound Settings (see the Hubspot Notifications article). The text shows in the inbox either way.

If the inbox doesn't open or sync

To refresh your connection, go to Settings > General > Integrations, find the HubSpot card, and click Reconnect account. If texts still don't appear, add the iMessage channel again from your HubSpot inbox, or contact Project Blue support.

The HubSpot CRM card in the contact sidebar is separate from the inbox channel. HubSpot's card retirement does not affect the inbox channel or sending from the web app and workflows.
